Our review of Trugenix Hoodia by Pure Health Labs
Trugenix Hoodia by Pure Health Labs has been advertising a "free 7 day supply" of their Hoodia product. All you have to do is pay $4.97 for shipping and handling.
Well, we have received a lot of emails from people complaining about this company. Apparently as soon as somebody orders their Trugenix Hoodia product, they are billed for another 30 day supply. When you order their "free 7 day supply" you are agreeing to enter their auto ship program. However, they start charging you almost right away. People told us they got charged before they even received their 7 day supply.
As of this writing I do see where it says you'll be enrolled in their auto ship program after you order. And many customers told me they didn't see this on their website when they ordered. I'm not sure if the company recently added this disclaimer to their site or if it has always been there. I will say though that it is hard to read. There is a very small scroll bar at the bottom of their site with a small window which is hard to read. You have to scroll a few lines at a time to read the disclaimer.
As of this writing (I say this because it appears they make a lot of changes) the disclaimer stats that you will be billed $4.97 for shipping and handling and you will automatically be enrolled in their "30 day Masters program" of which you will be automatically billed $79.41 each month (which it sounds like they bill you very shortly after ordering your free 7 day supply). And if you ever want to cancel you need to call them or send them a certified letter stating you wish to cancel. Maybe they are now taking cancellations by phone but past complaints have told us that the company would tell them that they could not cancel their orders until they received a certified letter stating they wished to cancel.
And we have heard several complaints of people who had a lot of trouble canceling and we were told the representatives were rude on the phone.
All feedback we got about this company was negative. The complaints always seemed to be about how they were scammed into paying so much and how it was difficult to cancel. Nobody ever even mentioned if the product worked or not. My assumption is that it didn't if so many people wanted to get their money back. But whether it did or not, the fact that a company has to play a game like this shows their only intention is to get as much money from you as they can before you cancel. If they had a good product they wouldn't have to play this game. They would feel confident that you would reorder their product after trying their "free 7 day supply". Instead they have to charge you right away. Do they really think you are going to be happy with this?
And $79.41 per month? You have got to be kidding me? I would feel scammed just for being charged that much. And surprise, surprise, the company doesn't have a refund offer. We were told they do not except refunds, even if you want to send back an unopened bottle.
From everything we have heard about Pure Health Labs Trugenix Hoodia, my advice is to stay away! And I would be leery of anybody offering a free 7 day supply of anything. Sure, there are legitimate companies that really do just charge you shipping and handling so you can try out their product. But most will charge (almost right away) for the next month supply and hope to get your business for several months before you go through the trouble to cancelling. Well, this sure doesn't sound like I'm getting anything for free.
